Bay Holmes
AmeriCorps Member
Bay Joined CRC through the AmeriCorps member program, serving as the Outdoor Education and Restoration Assistant for 2026. Growing up alongside the Connecticut River allowed Bay the opportunity to establish a close relationship with this ecosystem.Â
Upon graduating from SUNY ESF with a bachelor's degree in Conservation Biology and a minor in Marine Science, this relationship has developed into a desire to give back to the river and support ongoing nature-human interactions.Â
Bay is looking forward to connecting with community members while deepening their relationship with the river and the many species that rely on it.
When they are not working, Bay has a deep passion for the underwater world and enjoys scuba diving. They received their divemaster certification in Indonesia and has been diving at locations around the world including Fiji, Indonesia, Mexico and Greece. Their favorite group of underwater creatures are sessile invertebrates, specifically the mushroom coral, Fungia fungites.Â
