Do you like to kayak or canoe and always wonder what kinds of aquatic plants you are seeing in the lakes, ponds, rivers what you are out and about in your boat? Or are you just curious about freshwater aquatic plants in general? This is a workshop for you!
Become familiar with some of the most common native and invasive aquatic plants you would see when you are out on the water. There will be hands-on learning with live aquatic plant examples and knowledgeable staff from Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) Lakes and Ponds program. This workshop is a great intro for anyone looking to be a more informed boater and steward of the watershed! No previous experience is necessary.
The MA DCR Weed Watcher Program helps you learn to identify aquatic plants and monitor waterbodies, support protecting lake ecosystems, preventing the spread of invasive species, and promote healthy, sustainable recreational waters.
Location: 1st Floor Community Meeting Room in the Greenfield Public Library at 412 Main Street, Greenfield, MA
