About the event

Ever wonder where your water comes from when you turn on the faucet?

Through art-making and conversation, this workshop is designed to build awareness around our local water resources and how they relate to the Connecticut River. Together, we will learn how to be better stewards of the water that sustains our life and ecosystems!

We will begin with a short presentation from Nina Gordon-Kirsch, the Massachusetts River Steward at the Connecticut River Conservancy. She will teach us about local water resources, what water flows to our tap, and where it goes after we use it. Then we will have community conversation about how removed humans have become from the water cycle, and what we can do to reconnect. While discussing, we will have some artistic creation time. We will weave together blue fabric to represent how we are all a part of the watershed. There will also be water color paper and natural indigo dye for you to paint your reflections, how you feel, or what you learned at the event. No artistic experience neccesary!

This is a family friendly event - bring your kids, friends, and students!

Light refreshments will be served.
