Dr. Kirsten Martin, Program Director for Environmental Science at the University of Saint Joseph, has spent over a decade getting to know the Scantic River Watershed - a sub-basin of the Connecticut River - one water sample at a time. Since her arrival at the University of Saint Joseph, Dr. Martin has expanded her lab's Scantic River Water Quality Monitoring Program to include summer E. coli monitoring and last year added paired nutrient and E. coli  sampling during the summer.
