About the event

A muse is defined as a person, force, or inspiration that sparks creativity in an artist, writer, or musician. Join us for a facilitated art making event where you let the Connecticut River and its surrounding valley be your muse! Samuel Swap, printmaker, illustrator, and educator from Connecticut, will lead the group in a basic printmaking workshop at the summit of Skinner Mountain, in Hadley, MA.

Participants are welcome to join CRC staff and Sam for a moderately challenging pre-art hike (steep 2 mile hike on Two Frost & M&M trails) to the Skinner Mountain summit at 9:30am. If you do not wish to hike, there is an auto road with paid parking available at the summit. The group (hikers & non-hikers) will meet at the porch of the summit house at 11:15am and the art making will commence shortly after. The group hike down the mountain will start around 1:30pm.

Pre-registration is required as space and materials are limited. This event is open to participants ages 13 and up because we will be using sharp tools and fine motor skills. Materials and instructions provided to all registered participants.  We will be using picnic tables at the summit, but you are welcome to bring your own camp chair, as well as lunch, drinks, and your creative mindset for a mid-day art adventure with CRC and this awesome Connecticut River watershed artist.
