About the event

We are incredibly excited to announce Northampton Community Rowing's (NCR) second annual “Row for the River” fundraiser, which will take place on September 14th, 2025.

We are eager to build on that success by raising $40,000 this year in support of these important causes:

  1. The Connecticut River Conservancy's mission for clean water, healthy habitats, and resilient communities throughout the Connecticut River watershed;

  2. NCR’s inclusivity initiatives to provide income-qualified youth scholarships and recreational access to the Connecticut River, connecting people, river, and community for participants of all ages and abilities.

  3. Continued investment in our fleet of rowing shells to meet the evolving needs of our rowers and to support our growing programs.

Rowers from NCR and partner clubs will launch from the Hatfield Boat Ramp in Hatfield, MA, embarking on a scenic 10-mile course along the Connecticut River. The event will feature a variety of boats, from singles to club 8+s. We invite all rowers to join in this celebration of community, conservation and river connection.

THIS IS NOT A RACE! The event will be leisurely and fun, and rowers of all levels will be able to participate comfortably. The row will take approximately 2 hours to complete. Safety launches will accompany our boats along the course.

How You Can Help:

Participate: NCR rowers, your river needs you! To participate in this important fundraiser, we ask that you set up your fundraising page and reach out to friends, family and your social network to collect pledges. Then join us on September 14th for a day of rowing and fun! This is a 10 mile row from the Hatfield boat ramp to the Coolidge bridge and then back to the NCR docks. The launch time is between 8am and 8:30am. We will meet up at NCR for a potluck, celebration, and boat dedication. The ETA for the rowing to be done is about 10:30am. The event will end by 1pm or so. You are welcome to paddle along, but know that the rowing shells will be fairly fast!

Donate: Every contribution, big or small, makes a difference!

Share: Spread the word about our fundraiser on social media.

Why It Matters:

By joining Row for the River, you’re not just participating in a fun and engaging event; you’re also contributing to the health and sustainability of the Connecticut River. Your support helps fund vital conservation projects, educational programs, and community initiatives, as well as providing funding for youth scholarships and equipment to support our growing team!

Thank You!
