About the event
In 2024, the City of Greenfield--in partnership with the Connecticut River Conservancy, Greening Greenfield, and Youth Climate Action Franklin County--received a grant for a forest restoration project at Millers Meadow. Funded through the Commonwealth’s Municipal Vulnerabilities and Preparedness (MVP) Program, the project will improve climate resilience and build community by engaging volunteers in planting a forest at this site.
In 2025, over 150 volunteers helped to plant 650 trees at Millers Meadow. This year, we will plant an additional 450 to reach our goal of 1,100 trees.
We are seeking volunteers to help plant trees. No prior experience is necessary–we will provide training and tools. Please bring gloves, a sun hat and/or sunscreen, insect repellent, and a water bottle for yourself (we'll have drinking water on site for refills). We will also provide snacks! People of all ages and abilities are welcome. For more information about the project, check out this website.
Pre-registration is required. Sign up here for a tree planting day at Millers Meadow (Kimball Drive in Greenfield).
