About the event
Join us for a celebration of World Fish Migration Day with a tour at the Silvio O. Conte Research Laboratory, part of the U.S. Geological Survey's Eastern Ecological Science Center, along the shores of the Connecticut River in Turners Falls. We’ll get an inside look at the wet and dry research labs and see the huge structure where scientists and engineers study fish passage constructions! We’ll discuss the impacts of the current hydropower relicensing process on migratory fish populations.
We’ll also be visited by, and act as caretakers to, the Happy Fish, with whom we’ll make some artistic creations and fun photo ops! Your tour guides for the day will be Brett Towler, Conte Lab, and Aliki Fornier, CRC Ecology Planner.
