About the event
Walking Rivers is a world wide initiative to show that we care about our rivers. On Saturday, May 16th, 2026 people on five different continents will walk beside their rivers – in solidarity with the water and with each other.
Connecticut River Conservancy is excited to support our local tributary, The Fort River Watershed Association to walk along the Fort River. We look forward to approximately 3 miles of walking along a headwater tributary of the Fort River in North Amherst and Shutesbury. We will meet near Atkins Reservoir - details forthcoming. Free and open to all ages. Comfortable walking shoes recommended.
