About the event

A muse is defined as a person, force, or inspiration that sparks creativity in an artist, writer, or musician. Join us for a facilitated art making event where you let the Connecticut River and its surrounding valley be your muse! Samuel Swap, printmaker, illustrator, and educator from Connecticut, will lead the group in a basic printmaking workshop at the south summit of Mount Sugarloaf in South Deerfield, MA.

Participants are welcome to join CRC staff and Sam for a moderately challenging pre-art hike (steep 0.5 mile) along Old Mountain Trail to the South Mount Sugarloaf summit at 9:30am. If you do not wish to hike, there is an auto road with paid parking available at the summit. The art event will begin at 10:45am. The group hike down the mountain will start around 1:30pm.

Pre-registration is required as space and materials are limited. This event is open to participants ages 13 and up. We will be using sharp tools and fine motor skills. Materials and instructions provided to all registered participants. Bring your own camp chair, lunch, drinks, and your creative mindset for a mid-day art adventure with CRC and this awesome Connecticut River watershed artist.
