About the event
Connecticut River Conservancy's Nina Gordon-Hirsch and Melissa Langley at the upcoming Community Volunteer Fair at Trinity United Methodist Church in Springfield. Trinity United Methodist Church will be holding this event on Sunday, May 18th, from 1-4pm. The event, titled, "Be the Change", is a Community Volunteer Fair. They invite their congregation and the greater Springfield community to learn about the many different volunteer opportunities offered by nonprofit organizations in this area. They hope that it will help to foster a renewed sense of direction and purpose for those who may be feeling overwhelmed by current events and powerless to make a difference.
A variety of local nonprofit agencies will be invited to talk about their missions and how they use volunteers. Visitors will then have the opportunity to speak individually with those that interest them, ask questions, and potentially make connections that will enrich their lives while also benefiting the community. There is no charge for the event, either for the organizations or for our visitors. So come, listen, learn, find inspiration, and take action if that feels right! In the words of Mahatma Ghandi, "be the change that you wish to see in the world."
