About the event

Rhea Drozdenko, CRC's River Steward in Connecticut, will be one of the speakers in this workshop! This is a partner event, organized by Essex Land Trust and Essex Harbor Commission.

Connecticut’s lakes, ponds, and rivers are one of the state’s most valuable resources. Join the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station’s (CAES) Office of Aquatic Invasive Species workshop to discover which invasive aquatic plants are threatening these waterbodies and how they are being managed, including the new strain of hydrilla in the Connecticut River. Learn key identification skills with live plant specimens on display. The Connecticut River Conservancy will then discuss the importance of partnerships, education, and outreach in the work of preventing and managing invasive species. Legislative duties permitting, Christine Palm will join us to discuss the process of getting the Aquatic Invasives bill passed which led to the creation of the department at CAES. This event is co-sponsored with the Essex Harbor Commission.

This is a free event with no registration. All are welcome to attend. Please visit Essex Land Trust for additional information.
