About the event
Join your River Steward, Kathy Urffer, and Water Way(s) director, Erin Maile O’Keefe, along with Charles Soucy and our friends from Connecticut River Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited for angling along the Whetstone Brook. We will provide some fishing poles (or bring your own) and delicious donuts made by Paradox Pastry. Come discover the abundance of trout in the Whetstone, try your hand at fly or reel fishing and learn about the impacts of climate change on our fish populations. Bring your favorite humans and morning beverage for this sweet gathering at our newest recreational access area along the Whetstone Brook!
Oh, and bring a comfy camp chair, too.
This event is FREE, but we ask that you register so we order enough donuts and bring enough fishing poles. We'll have fishing lessons and poles for adults and kids!
Anyone age 15 or over will need a VT fishing license. You can buy a fishing license online (https://vtfishandwildlife.com/licenses-and-lotteries/license-center) or find a local vendor here: https://anrweb.vt.gov/FWD/FW/LicenseAgents.aspx.
This event is repeated on June 2 if you can't attend this date.
Our Events calendar is continually being updated with new opportunities to learn and connect. See what else is happening throughout the watershed (both virtually and in -person!
