About the event

Another session of Angling and Donuts in Vermont is BACK! We will provide some fishing poles (or bring your own) and delicious donuts. You come for the fun!

Come discover the abundance of trout in the Black River at Hoyt's Landing in Springfield, VT, try your hand at fly or reel fishing and learn about the impacts of climate change on our fish populations. Bring your favorite humans and morning beverage for this sweet gathering! Oh, and bring a comfy camp chair, too.

This event is FREE, but we ask that you register so we order enough donuts and bring enough fishing poles. We'll have fishing lessons and poles for adults and kids!

We are welcoming community members, families, and children, to join us at Hoyt's Landing on the Black River in Springfield, VT with donuts and fishing poles for a couple of hours of relaxed angling.  Members from the Connecticut River Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited will be on hand to help those who need it with setting up lines, instruction on casting and how to read the river for the best place to drop your line.  We will be able to sell fishing licenses on site using a mobile app for adults who need one, while all kids under 15 can fish without a license.

Anyone age 15 or over will need a VT fishing license. You can buy a fishing license online (https://vtfishandwildlife.com/licenses-and-lotteries/license-center) or find a local vendor here: https://anrweb.vt.gov/FWD/FW/LicenseAgents.aspx.
