Brief description of the trash site

This is a dead end road that leads to a dam on the Ashuelot River and continues as an abandoned road. There is a steep bank down to the river, a steep hill on the other side, and material also in a power cut. For the couch, a truck with a winch would be the best bet.. I don't know if the road where it is closed is closed because of undercutting, but I would be hesitant to bring an excavator or other heavy equipment onto the closed section. There is definitely scrambling involved, both up and down from road. Most of the large items are on the open end of the road, accessed from Hinsdale, but there are items all along it. And who knows between May and next fall what might be added.

Type(s) of trash at the site

Some small litter, but there is at least one couch, 1 mattress, 2 box springs, and other large items

Estimated number of volunteers this site needs for cleanup

Are boats or special equipment needed for cleanup? If so, explain

Embankment too steep to use just human labor for some places, though scrambling down to attach a winch might be possible. Some pipes near dam are partially buried, but probably not something we'd try to remove

Is this site suitable for children under 12?

No, adults only
