East Burke Dam Wooden Pens

These beautiful creations are a result of CRC’s 2017 dam removal project in East Burke, VT. The wood for these items came from logs that never made it to the mill before it burned down in 1958. Instead, the logs were buried in decades of sediment built up behind the old dam. The logs were rescued from the muck when the dam was removed last year. Sanderson’s Vermont Bowls in East Burke, VT have given the wood a second life to be cherished for years to come. CRC will share the proceeds from the sale of these items with the Passumpsic Valley Land Trust, which purchased the old dam in 2000 with the intent to remove it. Your purchase not only benefits your rivers but also supports the ongoing work of both nonprofit organizations.

These pens measure approximately 5.25 inches long. It will be safely shipped to you for $3 or you can pick it up at our Greenfield, MA office. Before/after photos of the dam removal are included.
