For Immediate Release

Greenfield, MA, September 12, 2013. – The Connecticut River Watershed Council’s (CRC) fall concert series with well-known artists Robin & Linda Williams and their Fine Group has been postponed. Initially scheduled for September 20-22, the three concerts are now planned for spring 2014. Those interested in receiving notice about the new dates can email concert@ctriver.org or call 413-772-2020 x207.

“Unfortunately, Robin broke some ribs earlier this summer and needs surgery to fully heal,” says CRC Executive Director Andrew Fisk. “Robin & Linda and their Fine Group are eager to reschedule with us, so the show will go on in spring 2014,” said Fisk.

Robin & Linda’s blend of bluegrass, folk, old-time and acoustic country music is known from NPR’s Prairie Home Companion. They have also appeared on “The Grand Old Opry” and “Austin City Limits.” Pat and Tex LaMountain, who led CRC’s popular Living Along the River concerts, will open for Robin and Linda. The concert series will benefit CRC’s 17th annual Source to Sea Cleanup, which will still take place on October 4th and 5th.

2,000 CRC members and volunteers are anticipated for the Source to Sea Cleanup, which will clean up shorelines in all four states (NH, VT, MA, CT) of the Connecticut River watershed. Volunteers of all ages and abilities head out to locations of their choice to clean the Connecticut River and its tributaries on foot or by boat. To date, volunteers have prevented more than 806 tons of trash from flowing downstream. You can help protect our water resources and be a part of this fun and positive event by registering a cleanup group, joining an existing group, or reporting trash sites in need of cleaning up on CRC’s new website, ctriver.org.

CRC advocates for the entire, four-state Connecticut River watershed, working to protect water—the river, its tributaries, lakes, fish—and the land, plants, and creatures connected to that water to keep them safe now and for future generations. To learn more about CRC, or to make a contribution to help protect the Connecticut River, visit ctriver.org or call 413-772-2020.
