The Health of the Watershed
This report, issued in January 1998, details the primary pollution "hot spots" in the Connecticut River and offers recommendations for solving them. It was prepared by the Connecticut River Forum, a group representing the four watershed states, federal agencies, the New England Interstate Water Pollution Control Commission, and others including the Watershed Council. A XeroxTM copy of the report and GIS map are available.
Price: $15.00 to cover copying, postage and handling.

The River Book
Anyone interested in learning about river conservation should have a copy of this new book by environmental engineer Jim MacBroom. Featuring 62 color photographs within its 241 pages, this is an extraordinary primer introducing readers to river ecology, fluvial morphology, glacial geology, hydraulics, hydrology and water quality. Published by the CT Department of Environmental Protection.
