"Riverside" by Tony Lechner, performed at
Living Along the River: A Concert of River Songs
The November 7, 2010, concert was a rousing success - we couldn't tell whether the audience or the musicians enjoyed themselves more. The mix of country and bluegrass, acoustic string bands, banjos, a capella, barbershop and flat-out rock featured a collection of songs about living along the Connecticut River – from log drives and floods to growing up in the Valley – and brought together some of the finest musicians and songwriters in the region.
Several of the performances that evening are being made into videos for YouTube. As they become available they will be listed on the concert's main page. A DVD of the full concert is in the works. Stay tuned.
This YouTube video of Tony Lechner's "Riverside" was performed by Rani Arbo and daisy mayhem. Special thanks for the great camera work and editing by Tom Adams of ReelifeProductions.com in Williamsburg, MA.
This project was supported in part by a grant from the Northampton Arts Council.
Special thanks to the Academy of Music.
