Our Headquarters in Greenfield, Massachusetts

The Watershed Council's main office is located in the center of Greenfield, right on the common, in the historic E.A. Hall Building. The fully renovated and handicapped accessible Hall Building, with a conference room and 5,000 volume library, is a gathering place for individuals interested in learning about and being involved in conserving New England's mightiest river ecosystem. Please, stop by.

The Watershed Council purchased the Hall Building in 1999, bringing the organization home to the same block where it was founded in 1952. The building was built in 1813 as the first Franklin County Courthouse and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Extensive renovations were needed to modernize and bring the building up to code. We installed steel and laminated beams to reinforce almost 200-year old timbers, new electric wiring, energy efficient lighting, and a new heating and ventilation system.
