The Watershed Council's headquarters are in the E.A. Hall Building in Greenfield, MA, which we purchased in 1999. The Hall Building was built in 1813 as the first Franklin County Courthouse and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
Extensive renovations were needed to modernize and bring the building up to code. We installed steel and laminated beams to reinforce almost 200-year old timbers, new electric wiring, energy efficient lighting, and a new heating and ventilation system. The building is fully accessible for individuals with disabilities.
As the Watershed Council's headquarters, the renovated Hall Building is a gathering place for individuals interested in learning about and being involved in conserving New England's mightiest river ecosystem. Please, stop by. |
